Agricultural data is everywhere: in farm records, veterinary systems, food safety monitoring, environmental reporting and national statistics. Yet making this data available, connecting it across systems and reusing it for policy and innovation remains a challenge across Europe. The Digi4Live project wants to understand where the obstacles lie, and we need the help of people who work with this data every day.
What is the survey about?
The survey is part of Digi4Live’s work on how agricultural data can be collected, shared and reused more effectively across Europe, particularly from the perspective of competent authorities and other public-sector organisations.
It asks about current data practices and challenges, including:
- data availability
- data sharing between organisations
- interoperability of systems and datasets
- alignment between national and EU-level data
It also gathers feedback on emerging approaches for agricultural data exchange and reuse, including data spaces and related digital concepts.
Who should take it?
We invite representatives of EU organisations, ministries, authorities, agencies and research organisations working in areas such as:
- agricultural policy
- food safety
- veterinary services
- environmental monitoring
- statistics
- research
- public administration
The aim is not to collect formal institutional positions, but the perspectives of individual experts. Multiple responses from the same organisation are very welcome, especially from colleagues with different roles and areas of expertise.
Why your input matters
Your responses will help Digi4Live identify practical barriers and opportunities in agricultural data sharing. They will also help us assess how useful the proposed digital approaches could be for authorities in different European countries. The findings will contribute to the project’s recommendations for future agricultural data sharing and digital innovation.
Practical details
Time needed: about 10–15 minutes
Language: English
Deadline: open until the end of November 2026
Privacy: participation is voluntary. Responses are analysed anonymously and reported only in aggregated form. Details on data protection and the processing of responses are in the privacy notice within the survey.
Supporting the effort in Finland and beyond
The survey is also being shared by project partners, including the Finnish Food Authority (Ruokavirasto). In Digi4Live, the Finnish Food Authority analyses regulatory and policy issues related to animal traceability. Its work aims to identify near-future needs for data and information management in public authorities, strengthen capabilities for policy monitoring and evaluation in agriculture, environment, climate and sustainable finance, and explore how new sensors and technologies can improve animal traceability.
Help us spread the word
Please share the survey with colleagues and networks who work with agricultural data. The more perspectives we gather, the better the recommendations will be.
Thank you for contributing your expertise and helping shape the future of Europe’s agricultural data ecosystems.
